Mission Statement 

“Be the teacher or leader that you needed when you were younger.”

As a current dance teacher and an aspiring elementary school teacher, my daily goal is to embody the qualities that would've helped me succeed in my childhood. This idea encourages the exploration of educational concepts and creating a safe, reliable environment for children. These impactful words were first introduced to me by my old dance teacher, with whom I have a strong relationship with. This dance instructor represents my North Star since "teaching like the teacher you needed" are the words she lives by, guiding my own personal leadership style. This mission statement implies that as an educator, you will be required to attend to the various needs of diverse children. My mission statement helps me view situations from a child's perspective and therefore, can dictate the most appropriate actions. Living by this mission statement helps me understand that becoming a "teacher" extends way beyond its name.
