TQS 6 – Professional Conduct
Teaching Quality Standard (TQS)- the Teaching Quality Standard provides a framework for the preparation, professional growth, supervision and evaluation of all Alberta teachers.
Faculty of Education- Standards of Professional Conduct- The teaching profession is guided by a code of ethics that all teachers are required to follow. The faculty's own standards reflect that same level of professional conduct. These standards guide the faculty's professional relationships with its students. As students, we are expected to nurture these same behaviours and characteristics throughout our careers as teachers.
Code of Professional Conduct (ATA)- The Code of Professional Conduct stipulates minimum standards of professional conduct of teachers but is not an exhaustive list of such standards. Unless exempted by legislation, any member of The Alberta Teachers' Association who is alleged to have violated the standards of the profession, including the provisions of the code, may be subject to a charge of unprofessional conduct under the bylaws of the Association.
